Planning permission for 14 new eco lodges in Faldingworth, Lincolnshire

Planning permission has been granted by West Lindsey District Council for the development of a new eco-tourism site at Land off Lincoln Road, Faldingworth, near Lincoln.

The approved plans allow for the siting of 14 eco-lodges for holiday use, the excavation of three wildlife ponds, and the erection of a multi-purpose building to provide a site office, maintenance store and on-site manager’s accommodation.

The scheme also includes an upgrade to the existing vehicular access, associated drives and pathways, and the implementation of a comprehensive landscaping strategy across the 4.1-hectare site.

The development has been creatively designed to provide high-quality visitor accommodation with direct access to nature, while also delivering significant biodiversity enhancements and new green infrastructure. Having been approached by our client to design a site with a contemporary feel, our brief was to deliver where others had failed. The site came with a legacy of previous planning refusals by other consultants - our team positively responded with a dynamic and ambitious project that was warmly supported by the LPA.

The approved development has been carefully designed to:

  • Deliver eco-lodges that are energy-efficient, low-carbon and finished to a high standard

  • Use a small-scale, low-profile layout to minimise visual impact on the surrounding landscape

  • Incorporate renewable energy infrastructure, with photovoltaic panels meeting the site-wide energy demand

  • Provide meaningful biodiversity gains, including new habitats and wildlife ponds, supported by a detailed landscaping scheme

From fallow field to a multi-million pound investment in the visitor economy! The site lies to the east of Lincoln Road, directly adjacent to Faldingworth recreational ground, on the southern edge of the village.

  • Approx. 5.5 km south-west of Market Rasen

  • Approx. 13 km north-east of Lincoln

  • Centrally located within the West Lindsey district, with excellent access to the region’s three key visitor economy brands: the Lincolnshire Wolds, Lincoln City, and Gainsborough.
