Transforming a Waterfront Home at Burton Waters
Our clients approached Fytche-Taylor to explore how their home at Burton Waters could be substantially extended and remodelled to create additional living space while making the most of its unique marina setting.
The brief was to develop an extension that felt appropriate to the existing property while introducing more natural light, improved internal spaces and a stronger connection with the waterfront.
The Design
Working closely with the clients, our architectural team explored a number of design options before developing the preferred scheme.
The proposals included extensive internal remodelling, a new master suite and open-plan living space, together with a feature glazed gable, large doors and a new balcony and roof terrace positioned to take advantage of views across the marina.
Traditional materials and carefully considered detailing were used to ensure the extension complemented the character of the existing home while creating a noticeably lighter and more contemporary living environment.
